Try OhSnap! in your browser
The same screen the kiosk runs, in a tab. Your webcam is the booth camera, Space snaps, and the admin drawer opens on the same chord. Nothing is uploaded: photos and settings stay in this browser until you clear them.
- Chrome or Edge on a laptop with a webcam works best
- The browser asks for the camera once; say yes
- A phone works too: tap the screen to snap
Ten things to try
- Snap. Press Space or tap the screen. Three, two, one, flash, then the review with Keep and Retake.
- Help opens first. The quick start ticks itself as you go, like a first launch on the kiosk. Ctrl+Shift+H brings it back.
- The drawer. Ctrl+Shift+A, or the Demo pill in the corner on a touch screen. Every panel is the real one.
- A background. Drop a JPG or an MP4 onto the Backgrounds panel, or click Add and pick one.
- Your brand. On Branding, add a text line with an outline and a glow, drag the watermark, pick a font. The photo you snap next carries it.
- The look. Look has the filters, the countdown styles, the guest filter strip and the readability switches.
- Modes. On Output, switch to a strip or a GIF and snap again.
- Gallery. Every photo is there. Show in folder downloads it to your computer.
- Export a preset. Branding, Export preset saves one JSON with every file inside. Import it on the installed app and the kiosk looks the same.
- Full screen. Ctrl+Shift+F fills the screen like the kiosk does; Quit OhSnap brings you back here.
What the demo cannot do
A browser tab has no printer, no serial port, no global keys and no folder on disk, so those panels say so instead of pretending. The installed app has them all.
- Printing and the printer list
- An Arduino on a COM port, and keys that work while another window is focused
- Saving to a folder or a USB stick; here, download from the Gallery
- Starting full-screen with the cursor hidden, and updating itself
Nothing leaves your browser
The camera feed, every photo and every setting live in this browser's own storage. This site never receives them. Clearing site data for ohsnap.gamingworld.uk removes all of it.
Two things reach the server: the app's files when the page loads, and one small request for the version number.
Liked it?
The installer is the same app with the real camera pipeline, printing, every input and a folder of photos. Current release v0.11.0.
